Igor Kopecky

Technical Director, Head Coach

​

  • 16 years competitive diver

  • Represented Canada in National and International competition

  • Spent 5 years as head coach for Dive Calgary, coaching at every level of diving from learn to dive to senior national medalists

  • Built a national diving team for Peru

  • Currently the High Performance/Technical Director of BC Diving and has been a facilitator and evaluator for the NCCP competition introduction and development courses

  • Degree in Kinesiology, an Education degree and he is finishing his masters at UBC in High Performance coaching and technical leadership

Founder

 

  • Assistant Coach of all levels and Level 2 (Comp Development) Certified

  • Represented Canada for 16 years in National and International competition

  • 34 time National Champion, 3-time Olympian, 4-time Olympic Judge

  • Member of Canadian Sports Hall of Fame

  • Received the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia

  • Member of High Performance Officials Committee

  • International Level Judge and currently mentor for International Judges

Tori Kennedy

Sr. Coach

  • Competed Internationally on both the junior and senior team for Canada

  • National Champion on platform 

  • Coached with Dive Calgary developing young divers by instilling a love of the sport, discipline and the strong basics 

  • Coached several divers to national medals

  • Nearly half of the Canadian national team is originally from Calgary, in large part formed by Tori's patient, persistent and technical eye

  • Competitive athlete for 12 years in national events 

  • Member of the National Team three times.

  • Level 1 Certified Coach (Comp Intro)

  • 7 years of experience

  • Assistant Coach in The Peruvian National Team and National coach of group D and C, from 2014 to 2017. 

  • Assistant coach (volunteer) in White Rock club since 2017

  • Previous Head Coach of The Coquitlam Sharks summer diving program for 2 years  

  • BC games Champion 2x on 1m/3m and Coach 2014, 2018

  • Comp intro trained 

  • Coaches FunDive, Recreational and substitutes all Competitive Programs
